Mariah Carey was born on March 27, 1970, in Huntington, New York. She is the daughter of Patricia Hickey, an opera singer and vocal coach, and Alfred Roy Carey, an aeronautical engineer. Her parents divorced when she was three years old and she was raised by her mother.
Mariah attended Greenlawn’s Harborfields High School where she studied voice and piano.
