There are a number of reasons why cats slap each other. One reason is because they are communicating. When a cat slaps another cat, it is usually trying to convey a message, such as “I don’t like what you’re doing” or “Please stop that.”
Cats also use slapping as a way to assert dominance over other cats. If a cat feels that it is being challenged by another cat, it may resort to slapping in order to show who is boss. Additionally, some experts believe that cats may slap each other out of boredom or frustration.
When cats are bored, they may engage in play fighting with each other in order to pass the time. And when they are frustrated, they may lash out physically in order to release some of their pent-up energy.

Why Do Cats Slap You

Why Do Cats Sometimes Hit Each Other?
There are a few reasons that cats might hit each other. One reason is that they are communicating their dominance over the other cat. This can happen when two cats meet for the first time and they are trying to establish who is in charge.
Another reason is if one cat feels threatened by the other, they might swat at them as a warning. Lastly, some cats just don’t get along and will randomly hit each other out of aggression. If your cats are constantly hitting each other, it’s best to consult with a veterinarian or animal behaviorist to find out the root of the problem and how to solve it.
What Does It Mean When a Cat Swats at You?
There are a few different reasons why your cat might swat at you. One reason could be that they’re playing. Cats love to play, and sometimes they see their human companions as fellow cats that they can play with.
If your cat is young or especially playful, they might swat at you in a harmless way as part of their playfulness. Another reason why your cat might swat at you is if they’re feeling threatened or scared. If you make a sudden move towards them or try to touch them when they’re not expecting it, they may react by swiping at you with their claws out as a defensive measure.
This isn’t usually done with the intention of hurting you, but rather as a way to scare you off so that the cat feels safe again. If your cat is constantly swiping at you, it could also be a sign of aggression. This is usually seen in cases where the cat feels like their territory is being encroached upon, such as if you try to pick them up when they don’t want to be held or if you move too close to their food bowl while they’re eating.
In these cases, the swats are meant to assert dominance and keep you away from what the cat perceives as theirs. If your cat has started swiping at you more than usual, it’s best to take them to the vet for a check-up just in case there’s an underlying health issue causing the behaviour change. Otherwise, try to determine which of the above reasons might be causing it and take appropriate measures accordingly – such as playing more with your kitty if they seem bored or avoiding getting too close if they seem scared or aggressive.

Cats are creatures of habit. In the wild, they spend a lot of their time grooming themselves and each other. When they’re not doing that, they’re usually sleeping or eating.
So, when two cats meet for the first time, they will often start by sniffing each other and then begin to groom themselves. Sometimes, though, two cats will meet and instead of greeting each other calmly, they’ll start slapping each other around. This might seem like aggression, but it’s actually just a way for them to get to know each other better.
By playfully hitting each other, they’re trying to figure out what the other cat is all about. Eventually, the two cats will either become friends or go their separate ways. But in the meantime, you might want to keep an eye on them in case things get too heated!
