The Star Wars character Princess Leia is the daughter of Padmé Amidala, Queen of Naboo, and Anakin Skywalker, a Jedi Knight. Her parents were married secretly due to the fact that Anakin was believed to be too old for Padmé and because she was his student. As a result, Leia was hidden from her father on Alderaan with her mother’s family.
