Adele Laurie Blue Adkins MBE is an English singer-songwriter. She was born on 5 May 1988 in Tottenham, London, to an English mother, Penny Adkins, and a Welsh father, Marc Evans. Evans left when Adele was two, leaving her mother to raise her.
Adele grew up in West Norwood in south London and attended the BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology in Croydon. During her time at school, she began writing songs and played guitar and piano. When she was 14, she wrote her first song titled “Hometown Glory” about her home suburb of West Norwood.
