Animal Alphabet Art- X is for X Ray Fish

Animal Alphabet Art- X is for X Ray Fish

What You Need:

  • Tag board
  • White construction paper
  • Scissors
  • White Glue
  • Pencil
  • Watercolor
  • Paintbrushes and cups
  • The Letter "X" page from the Animal Alphabet Book
What To Do:
Prep: Depending on the age of the child you are working with, there can be two ways to prepare the fish. 1. you can have them draw a basic X Ray Fish using a pencil onto white paper. My little one is 3 and felt more confident tracing a stencil I provided out of tag board. Either way you chose, create an X Ray Fish onto a white sheet of construction paper (or water color paper).

2.  Trace the fish with white glue. We painted glue on using a paintbrush. "Paint" with glue 3 X's to make the "skeletal bones" so the fish indeed looks like an X Ray Fish. Allow glue to dry through thoroughly.

3. Have your little one paint water onto the Letter "X" page from the Animal Alphabet Book. Allow to dry.

4. Once the glue is dry, have your preschooler paint the X Ray Tetra Fish. Once dry, cut out and glue to the water on the Letter "X" page from the Animal Alphabet Book.
