Crafty Kids 4 Kids Giveaway- Learning Shapes through Weaving

We are so excited here at Classified: Mom to be participating in the Crafty Kits 4 Kids Giveaway Event. There are 14 other blogs that are participating in this event as well- so make sure to check them out!A Linky has been provided at the end of this post.

We will be offering the Crafty Kit, "Learning My Basic Shapes Through Weaving for Little Hands" here at Classified: Mom.

What does the Craft Kit include?
  • 6 Shapes Cards (on tag board with pre-punched holes) pre-colored.
  • 6 Black and White Shapes Cards (on tag-board pre-punched- to be painted in)
  • Red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple yarn to complete the project
  • Weaving Shapes Crafty Kit
  • A set of water colors to complete the project.
     Examples of shapes color cards:

    Sample of Colored Shapes Cards

Teaching your child to weave basic, simple shapes is a great way to exercise their fine motor skills as well as teaching them concepts such as; through, over/under and in and out. The holes for weaving are large with the "Learning My Basic Shapes Through Weaving for Little Hands" Craft Kit- so there are no need for needles!

      Simple Directions:
      What to do:
      1. If desired, use the blank cards to paint or color in. Then tape the selected color yarn to the back of the associated colored shapes card.

      2. Add another piece of tape to the end of the yarn to form a tip. This makes it easier to weave the yarn in and out of the holes.
Tape on end of yarn to form needle

      3. Help your little one weave the yarn through each hole. Tape at the end of the last hole. (If you are working with a preschool-aged child, he or she may want to weave through twice).
Painted, weaved through by 3 year old

You can use these as book marks when completed or as learning flash cards!

      Win it!

      16. My 2.5 y.o. son would LOVE this! First of all, painting is his favorite activity - he literally wakes up babbling about it (I think he dreams he's doing it.) He's pretty much mastered his shapes and will proudly tell anyone who's willing to listen what shape *anything* is. And, finally, I've been doing a lot of hand-stitching lately. He's so very interested in what I'm doing - I think it would be fun for us to do similar projects together!

      24. This would probably be too advanced for my 16 month old, but this would be awesome fine motor practice & shape review for my almost 4 yr old (both boys). :)

Thanks for the great directions on this, so we might be able to do our own just in case we don't win!

      25. This would be for both of my 26 month old twin boys. We've recently started 'sewing' but I think the ones they have are too advanced for them. These look perfect.
